Designed to be placed under a cherished painting done by the client’s mother. The Chinese pagoda and the lattice work , themed in the painting, were the inspiration for the elements I used in this piece. In the trapezoidal frame and panel construction I paid particular attention to the grain patterns and symmetry. Doors are book-matched, outside and inside, with mitered- frames. The top has a most beautiful curl figure and over time the whole piece has darkened beautifully. The lattice work, echoed in the end panels and the handle, was subbed-out for CNC work to a local artisan, R. Meinert.
