Hall Chair with Paisley

Hall Chair with Paisley

Inspired from an old English Tudor oak chair. I liked the hole in the back that was a heart shaped which I modified and ‘fed’ the cloth through. The paisley pattern crosses cultures and time periods. The clients use this as a hall chair.

Bench with Sindhi Shawl

Bench with Sindhi Shawl

We love to use drapes to cover and soften the look of a furniture piece in our homes. Here’s a bench that simulates that feeling….in wood and tiny mirrors. The hand painted stain design has the paisley pattern used extensively in the Indian Sub-continent area; specifically in the Sindh region.
Many cultures use mirrors on their garments and head wear to reflect-off or ward-off the evil eye
The paisley was also successfully appropriated by the English designer William Morris during the Pre-Raphaelite and early Arts and Crafts movement in England

Material: mahogany, paduk, inlaid mirrors
Dimensions (h x w x d): 30.5 x 42 x 22
Year Made: 1999
